Hoshiarpur is renowned as city of saints due to existence of numerous saints in this region. One of such saints revered across this area was Shah Noor Jamal. He was popular Muslim saint in ancient times and very famous for its spiritual abilities. The tomb built in memory of Shah Noor Jamal is incepted in the village of Salern which is positioned in the vicinity of Hoshiarpur.
The tomb of Shah Noor Jamal was constructed in the year 1250 AD as the burial site of holy saint. Since that period this place has been divine for all people irrespective of caste and religion.

Shah Noor Jamal was the famous dervish of Hoshiarpur and he was originally named as Qutbul Aqtab Badar Ud Doha, Aftaf e Shawalak, Hazrat Jalal Ud Din. Baba Fareed Ud Din Gunj e Shakar was the uncle of Shah Noor Jamal. He has given with the authority, Valayat of Jalandhar Do Aba Bast by the Baba Sahib. It was because of his dedication and devotion in the spiritual blessing he possessed. Shah Noor Jamal Tomb is spiritually very renowned holy place in the region of Hoshiarpur. From ages people use to visit this tomb for taking blessing and fulfilling their wishes. Muslim, Sikh, and Hindu community people come in huge number to give their attendance at this memorial. Yearly Urs is celebrated at the tomb of Shah Noor Jamal in March month. Usually this celebration starts on 28th of March and lasts for 4 days. On this auspicious occasion, a huge fair is organized by locals since the ancient times.This occasion witness visitors in huge amount and many devotees come from Pakistan as well. This is firm belief of visitors that blessing and karamat of Shah Noor Jamal is everlasting. The most significant fact of this place is that entire tomb is covered with creepers which blossoms during the month of March every year. And the most notable aspect is that the taste of these flowers is as good as milk or kheer (desert of milk). These creepers are named as Kheerni and such types of creepers are only found at this tomb. People related this fact with the blessing of Shah Noor Jamal, hence many people comes to pay their devotion here.
